PHOTOS: “Armenia: An Open Wound” Exhibition Featuring “Curator in the Spotlight: Illuminating Armenian Middle Ages” with Getty Museum

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, “Curator in the Spotlight: Illuminating the Armenian Middle Ages” featuring Elizabeth Morrison, Senior Curator of Manuscripts at the J. Paul Getty Museum, was held at the Brand Library & Art Center with a capacity audience. Elizabeth Morrison’s presentation invited viewers to discover the fascinating world of medieval Armenian manuscript illumination and highlighted the career of the most celebrated Armenian artist of the Middle Ages, T’oros Roslin. The program was organized by the Armenian American Museum and Ararat Eskijian Museum.

The program is part of a series programs taking place in conjunction with “Armenia: An Open Wound,” an exhibition presented by the City of Glendale, CA Glendale Library, Arts & Culture Department in partnership with the Armenian American Museum. The exhibition was curated by the Museo Memoria y Tolerancia in Mexico City. The exhibition will be on view at the Brand Library & Art Center from April 16 to June 11, 2016.
